What the app does

Find

Public toilets, motorway services and rest stops, petrol stations, railway stations, cafés, restaurants, shops and museums with a toilet – on the map and as a list by distance.

Filter

Free, step-free, baby changing, Euro key, unisex, open now, well rated. Every entry shows price, facilities, opening hours, reviews and photos.

Get there

Directions on foot or by car, with distance, duration and arrival time. Navigation runs inside the app – with voice guidance, and it keeps going with the screen locked.

On a long drive

Enter your destination and see every toilet along the way, with the distance into the trip and the driving time to it. Services on the opposite carriageway are recognised and hidden.

Take part

Missing a toilet? Add it, with location, price, facilities and a photo. Rate cleanliness, access, facilities and price. Every contribution is checked before it appears.

In your language

English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Dutch, Polish and Czech. Distances, times and prices follow your iPhone’s settings – miles in the UK, kilometres elsewhere.

What it looks like

Detail view of a free toilet on Friedrichstraße with the walking route drawn on the map, 110 metres away and a “Go · 2 min” button.
Price, address and walking time at a glance – one tap and the route is there. While only the straight-line distance is known, it says so in red.
A planned drive from Berlin to Dresden along the A13 motorway with toilet markers all along the route.
Berlin to Dresden, 195 km along the A13: 193 toilets and 11 motorway services along the way, within 300 m, 1 km, 3 km or 5 km of the route as you choose.

On iPad, too

More on screen, all at once

Held sideways, the map fills the width and the list sits beside it instead of below. The same app with more room – on any iPad running iOS 26.

KloKompass on an iPad in landscape: a map of central Berlin fills the screen with a list of 49 toilets in front of it, showing distance, price and opening hours.
49 toilets around Friedrichstraße, six of them in the list without scrolling – with walking time, price and facilities.
Planning a drive on the iPad: the map shows the route from Berlin to Dresden with toilet markers, next to two route options with driving time, distance and arrival.
Berlin to Dresden: both routes, driving time, arrival and the toilets along the way – all on screen at the same time.

Your location stays with you

No account, no sign-up, no advertising IDs, no tracking. The map only asks the server for the section you are looking at, never for your position. GPS data and camera details are stripped from photos before anyone sees them. The details are in our Privacy Policy.

Where the data comes from

The toilets come from OpenStreetMap – the free map of the world that tens of thousands of volunteers work on (© OpenStreetMap contributors, ODbL). Added to that are open data from cities and projects (see Legal notice) and entries and reviews from the KloKompass community. Maps, addresses, routes and traffic come from Apple Maps.

Know a toilet that is on no map at all? Add it – in the app with the + on the map, or here on the website: tap the spot on the map, or go straight to the form. No account needed. Every entry is checked by hand and is then there for everyone.

Reporting something

A wrong entry, an unsuitable photo, a toilet that no longer exists? In the app, every entry has “Report a problem” and it comes straight to us. Or write to golamarkus@googlemail.com – we look at every report.

Help and legal

A note on navigation: the app’s guidance is a help, not an instruction. What you see on the road always wins – signs, traffic and the rules of the road. Do not operate the device while driving.
